Kirkland Chappell is an up-and-coming journalist who’s always had ambitions of covering Illini Athletics. He got his first crack at it during the 2021-2022 football season by contributing to the Illini Guys.
Chappell is originally from Jacksonville, Illinois, which also happens to be home to Illini legend Andy Kaufman. This is where his passion for writing and athletics took shape.
