22nd annual art walk | Downtown Bloomington | 4 – 8 pm
Friday opens Bloomington’s two-day annual art walk with plenty of works from various Bloomington art studios. The 22nd iteration of the event will feature the opening of Mandy Roeing’s fine art studio. During the two-day event attendees will be able to visit 12 different art studios.
Shop Small Give Thanks | Downtown Bloomington | All day
Head down to Downtown Bloomington on Friday for the town’s Shop Small Give Thanks Event. Set to highlight local businesses, shops will open to the public with special deals for the event. Businesses will stay open later than usual for the event.
Saturday
World War 2 Memorial Rededication | McLean County Museum of History | 1 pm
Twenty-five years after it was originally unveiled, the McLean County Museum of History will rededicate Bloomington’s World War 2 memorial Saturday. For the event, the museum has worked to improve the memorial including adding new raised lettering for more readable names and plans to add a Vietnam and Korean War memorial. The event will feature a jet flyover, music, reading of names and military honor guard and presentation.
Mystery at the Mansion | David Davis Mansion | 6 – 9 pm
Visitors will have the chance to play a live-action version of Clue as they try and figure out the murder mystery. Attendees will be sent back to the early 1900s with bootleggers, gangsters and flappers along with early-century music, cocktails and appetizers. Attendees are highly encouraged to dress in 1920s clothing. The first visitor to solve the mystery will receive a special prize
Sunday
Windjammer Chili Cook-off | 2303 Stern Drive | 1 pm
The fourth annual Windjammer Chili Cook-off returns to Bloomington once again. There will be three categories that competitors can enter – traditional, spicy and alternative – for a chance to win up to $100. The contest will take place during the Chicago Bears vs Miami Dolphins game and the winners will be announced after the conclusion of the game. Guests can pay $5 and sample the chili while supplies last.
