Trick or treating events for Bloomington-Normal

Halloween inches nearer and nearer with each passing day. With October 31 slowly creeping up on the calendar, there are plenty of trick-or-treating events around Bloomington-Normal to keep kids occupied.

Thursday

Sensory Friendly Trick or Treating | The Place for Children with Autism |4:45-5:45 pm

The Place for Children with Autism is offering a sensory-friendly version of Trick or Treating on Thursday. This event includes trick or treating around the facility, arts and crafts and treats. Open to all, costumes are encouraged but optional.

Trick or Treat at Carriage Crossing | Carriage Crossing | 5-7 pm

Head to Carriage Crossing for treats from residents and chefs at 5 pm on Thursday.

Friday

Downtown Bloomington Trick or Treat | Downtown Bloomington | 5-8 pm

The streets will be shut down on Friday for Bloomington’s annual downtown trick-or-treating event. Street closings begin at Main Street from Washington, Market, Mulberry and Monroe along with Jefferson from East to Center Street. Storefronts will offer treats for kids. The first 1,000 children can pick up a goodie bag at the corner of Jefferson and Main Street.

Treat Fest | Uptown Normal | 5-6:30 pm

Along with downtown, Uptown Normal will shut down its streets to welcome trick-or-treaters of any age. Businesses open up their doors to give a safe trick-or-treating experience.

Halloween Hoopla | Children’s Discovery Museum | 6 pm

After Treat Fest families can take their trick-or-treaters to the Children’s Discovery Museum for more trick-or-treating. Along with more candy to fill kids’ bellies, the museum will offer spooky hands-on science exhibits.

Monday

Town-wide trick or treating | 5-9 pm

For the main event of October, Normal will have its city-wide trick-or-treating. Starting at 5 pm and ending at 9 Normal encourages participants to dress appropriately and bring flashlights. The town also emphasizes only approaching houses with exterior lights on.

Trunk or Treat events

Throughout the week there will be several trunk-or-treating events. At these events, cars will line up with candy for kids to go around and collect.

Core 3 | Friday | 5 pm

Bloomington Church of Christ | Saturday 4-5 pm

Charles Community Church | Sunday | 3-5 pm

Centennial Christian Church | Monday | 5:30-7:30 pm
