Five things to do this weekend: Monster Match, Autumn Fest highlights last weekend of October

As October comes to a close there are plenty of Halloween events happening in the area. But for those looking for other things to do in Bloomington-Normal this weekend continue reading below.

Friday

Mike Pinto Meet & Greet | The Stable | 6 pm

Acoustic artist Mike Pinto comes to the Stable to meet fans with an intimate show last five or six songs. Besides getting an up close and personal show, Pinto will sign autographs and meet fans. Attendees that buy the VIP package will receive a signed poster, koozie and sticker pack.

Saturday

Autumn Fest | Destihl Brewery | 11 am – 4 pm

Destihl Brewery hosts Autumn Fest showing off plenty of fall vendors on Saturday. The event will feature live music from Kyle Lap from 12 – 3 pm. Booths will be set up with pumpkin painting, candle making and a costume contest.

Monster Mash | Redbird Arena | 4 pm

Head out to Redbird Arena for a dual feature. First kids can come at 4 pm to trick or treat with their favorite Illinois athletes. Players from baseball, softball, track and field and more will be in the concourse handing out candy. After the event, the Redbirds return to the court to take on Southern Illinois to continue the Missouri Valley Conference season. During the game, kids wearing costumes will be invited to the court during the second set for a costume parade with prize winners.

Men on Boats | E. Melba Johnson Kirkpatrick Laboratory Theater | 7:30 – 9:30 pm

Illinois Wesleyan’s theater department puts on their two-day stand of Men on Boats. This play is the mostly true telling of a merry band of crewmates on a ship in the late 1800s. During the course of the play, the crew maps the course of the Colorado River in the developing United States of America. The play opens on Saturday and closes Sunday afternoon.

Sunday

PCH! Pet Halloween Costume Contest | Lil Beaver Brewery | 2 – 4 pm

Pet Center Helps! Returns to Lil Beaver Brewery for its second annual Pet Halloween Costume Contest. Bring your dog out for multiple chances to win prizes. There will be a first-place winner and an honorable mention for an individual costume as well as group costumes. Humans and canines alike will be given treats.
