Say what? Yeah, the popular 90s film based on the Saturday Night Live skit turns 30 today.
WAYNE’S WORLD hit the big screen on February 14, 1992. The Mike Myers and Dana Carvey film was made for $20-million. It would go on to make $180-million worldwide at the box office and spawn a sequel, because Hollywood loves sequels. It was also #5 on 1992’s Top 10 highest-grossing films list in the US.
The film also gave us one of the most memorable scenes of the 90s… the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ car jam. The song saw new life after the film and re-charted on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #2.
